 Quote of the month

“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”    Abraham Lincoln

Special of the month:

American Standard Cadet 3 toilet installed for $278

Ohio’s Best Buckeyes

I recently was given a tin of the peanut butter candy dipped in chocolate called a buckeye. I have had many of these in the past but this was the best buckeye candy I have ever tasted.  Here is the recipe:

1 lb box powdered sugar

18 oz. Creamy Jiff peanut butter

¼ cup softened butter

2 cups Rice Krispies

Wilbur dipping chocolate (Hartville Chocolate Factory)

Mix the ingredients without the chocolate together and form little balls.  Heat the chocolate and dip the peanut butter balls into the chocolate using a toothpick.  Allow the chocolate to cool and serve.

Just a little piece of heaven I thought you may enjoy.   ( recipe provided by Ann Raber)

Experience the Stark County Fair

I did just that this past week in a booth that we set up at the fair.  It was a last minute effort due to the late opening of a spot that became available because of an injury.  Luck has it the injury was to someone else and we got in.

Little did I know, but the fair is a busy place the week before and the weekend of Labor Day.  There were tens of thousands of people enjoying all that the fair has to offer each day.  People that I knew, didn’t know, and got to know came from all over not only the county, but the state and some from out of state.  It was interesting to hear what attracted some of them to the fair.  For some it was the animals, some the horse races, some the rides, some the tractor pulls, some the concert, some the demolition derby, and others just wanted to eat “fair food”.

Our booth consisted of some state of the art plumbing technologies, a giveaway,  plumbing discounts, and good old CANDY!  Of course the candy was an instant hit for the kids, who made their round(s).  The next most interesting item of conversation was the tankless heater we had on display.  Navien now makes a 98% efficient water heater, compared to a standard 58% efficient tank, it is a remarkable piece of equipment.  With the tax credits and financing now available for the unit, many were interested in the benefits of going to the new tankless technology.

I want to thank the vendors and fair goers who stopped by to say hello and make our stay a memorable one.  Army National Guard, Pure Romance, Tadmore Shrine and the Free Masons to name a few kept us in line as we hosted a week full of sharing and fun.

If you have never had the opportunity to have a peanut butter milkshake from the 4H Dairy Barn, I highly recommend you putting that on your list of things to do before you die.  What can I say kids, INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!

Late Summer Maintenance

Fall is here, college football is underway, and leaves will be falling shortly.  Remember to clean your gutters and remove any debris throughout the season to prevent blocked storm drains and potential water seeping into your basement.

Home Sales in Stark and Summit Counties

For those of you who are considering selling or buying a house in Stark or Summit County in the future, there are a few new regulations in place if the property has a well and or septic system.

Summit County requires a well and septic point-of-sale inspection before a house can transfer to a new owner.  This inspection protects the buyers interests in regards to the condition of these important features of a property.  These inspections consist of 6 pages of information gathered and reported to the health department regarding the condition of the systems.  The health department makes a decision based on the results of this inspection as to whether the system is functioning adequately for the property or if work is needed to bring the system up to code requirements.

Stark County only requires the point-of-sale inspection on the septic system.

We at Buckeye Plumbing do offer these services at a very competitive rate and would be happy to assist in this area should you need these services.  Our web site has pricing available under the inspections tab should you need it.
